Prescott Group wins national award for Excellence in Supported Employment.

We are thrilled to share that Prescott Group has been awarded the Wiltshire Award of Excellence in Supported Employment, a prestigious national honour presented by the Canadian Association for Supported Employment (CASE). This award recognizes exceptional individuals or agencies that have made significant contributions to the advancement of inclusive employment and the promotion of full citizenship for Canadians with disabilities.

Charlene Kuhn, Prescott Group’s Manager of Community Employment and Engagement, accepted the award on behalf of our team at the CASE National Conference. In her moving remarks, she reminded attendees that inclusive employment is not just a service—it’s a human right.

“This recognition means so much to us—not just because of what it celebrates, but because of what it stands for: the right of people with disabilities to live full lives, supported and valued in their communities,” said Kuhn. “Employment is not a privilege—it is a vital part of inclusion, dignity, and citizenship.”

At Prescott, we believe that every person deserves the opportunity to build a life of their choosing and contribute meaningfully to their communities. Our inclusive employment strategies—like JobLinks, the Saturday Jobs Program, and our thriving social enterprises including Pinkie’s Thrift and the North End Baking Co.—create pathways for people to gain experience, earn fair wages, and be recognized for their unique strengths and talents.

Winning the Wiltshire Award is a proud milestone, and one that we share with:

  • The dedicated staff who work tirelessly to support individuals in their employment journeys,
  • The inclusive employers who open their doors and see ability first,
  • The families, advocates, and allies who champion equity in the workplace,
  • And most of all, the individuals who show us every day what’s possible when given the opportunity to shine.

This award is also a reminder that we’re part of a broader movement. Across Canada, so many organizations, leaders, and advocates are breaking down barriers and building more inclusive communities. We are honoured to be among them and grateful to CASE for recognizing this work—and for uniting a national network committed to equity and belonging.

We accept this award with gratitude and renewed determination. There is more work to be done, and we are just getting started.
